It started with Van Halen’s “Dance the Night Away.”
When that chorus hits, my mind just goes into it. I’m dancing, caught up in the music, and for a moment I don’t care who’s watching.
Which is funny, because I’m actually afraid of dancing.
Maybe it’s having strangers watch me. Maybe it’s worrying that people will judge how I move. I don’t know exactly why, but I can want to dance and feel self-conscious about it at the same time. Apparently, even having fun requires a committee meeting in my head.
I wanted to make a song that could give me that feeling—the moment when the music takes over and I stop thinking so much.
As I worked on “Nobody’s Watching,” the idea changed with each version I generated in Suno. I started picturing myself alone, taking a moment away from everyone and everything. A little space to breathe. To let go.
And just dance.
That became the heart of the song. I could have a moment to myself without worrying about how I looked or what anyone thought. I could simply move with the music and enjoy it.
“Nobody’s Watching” was released on October 9, 2026.
If you’ve ever wanted to dance but felt yourself holding back, maybe this song can be your excuse to take a moment, too.
